Someone on the bbPress forums suggested I look here for a plugin that I can use to showcases bbPress themes on my own site. I've created some blank bbPress themes that can be used as the starting point for creating a custom theme.

Can someone help me find a link to the download page for theme showcase plugin. I can't find it after hunting high and low. Google search revealed links to old sites that are now down. I've also looked through the various plugin lists here but can't find the plugin I am looking for.

    I'm somewhat confused!

Sorry for the confusion - it's a module inside the "My Views" plugin.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have tried installing this on my test server and it is not changing themes. My site is wordpress 2.3 integrated with bbpress 0.8.3.

Are your plugins compatible with bbPress 0.8.3?

Oh sorry, a big mistake there on my part.

I haven't actually released the switching code yet.

The "my views" plugin lets you list themes but not switch.

My apologies. Let me see what I can do about releasing the switcher.

Okay it should show up on the bbPress plugin repository soon.

Or if you don't want to wait for it to update, nab it here:

I rushed it for public release so there may be a bug or unpolished feature or two.

Wow - that was very responsive - great stuff! I've tested it on my dev site and it's good to go. I'll install it on bbpressraw.com later today.

I've now installed the theme switcher plugin on my bbpressraw.com site.

You can view all the blank bbPress themes via the theme switcher dropdown at bbpressraw.com/forums.

Looks good. When you say blank templates, you aren't kidding, LOL.

Your site reminds me that one day I need to figure out a way to make it work without cookies (I block cookies by default in my browser so I didn't see the failure of the switcher until I looked elsewhere). Either that or a gentle nag that it won't work without cookies.

Although if you use the list feature somewhere, you can still see the first page with cookie support, ie.

It's useful to work from a clean slate as far as the CSS goes. It can take time to strip down a complex theme's CSS to bare bones in order to create a new theme.

I've added a <nag>. I wouldn't have noticed that problem - thanks for pointing it out!
