are catching bots so important? IMHO, separating to guets and members is normal. Or you worry it for SEO?
I worry about for abuse.
Larger sites can have a hundreds bots at once slowing down the overall speed. Sometimes you get bots that are not official and download every single link, thousands of pages.
So I always like to know humans vs bots.

Continuing subject, after I set-up your mini-track, I often see guest visiting register.php and surely trying register. I've setup your human test plugin too, so there's no serious danger and no-one get through protection. But I think it's a good idea to ban ip's after several unseccesful attempts for some time. It can be also done with editing .htaccess file and setting 'deny from' directive. How's my idea?
It's a good idea but very dangerous to leave htaccess open for writes.
Plus dynamic IPs rotate every few days.
I plan to eventually do a short term ban built into the human test but it's on an every growing "to do" list unfortunately.
I figured out why the two trackers are out of sync.
Seems some of the bots use proxies and the full User Track deals with that better.

Is it normal not deniening it?
Did you see that number go up that high over three minutes? Typically when you see "guest" instead of "bot" that might mean it really IS a bot but spoofing a regular user agent to fool tracking/logging programs.
To read 470 pages in three minutes it would have to be a very badly behaving bot. That's 3 pages per second.
Or it could very well be a bug in the code.
But I've not seen that happen yet.
