    I followed the installation docs step by step, installed some plugins then activated them one by one. But, nothing happened........none funtioned.

    Anybody can help me?

    Version of my bbpress is 1.0 Alpha (i opted it since it works well with WordPress 2.6.1), and they are running fine.

    A few of my plugins have problems with 1.0 alpha but what you are saying sounds like a much bigger problem.

    It may have to do with being on Windows and depending on what functions in PHP your host has disabled. I suspect it's the notorious "GLOB" problem that bbPress has, they may not have fixed a workaround yet if your host has it disabled.

    Do you know how to post a PHPINFO page? That will help.
    Just put `<?php phpinfo(); ?> into phpinfo.php
    and put it on your server and access it from the web to see the results.

    This is a demo of the bbPress Signatures plugin!

    Well if it runs wordpress, it should be able to run bbPress, the problem is you are using an alpha version which is very very new and has alot of changes since the stable 0.9

    The problem is you must use 1.0 if you are going to use WP 2.6

    So it's a matter of finding the bug.
    Since your PHP is ancient, I suspect it's a bug with some code that's not compatible with that. I use version 4 too, but 4.8 which is much, much newer than your 4.3

    I'll open a ticket in TRAC and see what the main developers have to say.

    thank you for your reply!
    indeed, WP 2.6 only works with bb alpa 1.0.
    and the ancient PHP sucks. (I plan to find a new ISP)

    plugins I was trying to use are: Poll, Signiture, BBcode Button, etc.

    BTW, once I used Vanilla, another neat PHP Forum system, its "Extensions" are quite similar with "Plugins" of bbPress. Pugins by _ck_ are really impressive, and better than Vanilla to some extends.
    Thank you again.

    I've opened a ticket for you in the bug tracking system:
    http://trac.bbpress.org/ticket/945
    but that may take awhile to get an answer.

    If the forum is not open to the public yet, you can try putting in this line near the top of bb-config.php :
    error_reporting(E_ALL);

    That will report ALL errors, warnings and notices
    and may give us some insight into why the plugins aren't running.
    (don't be alarmed as there may be a great deal of errors reported)

    One other person has now reported the same problem but with Apache + PHP 5 on Windows. So this apparently is a Windows problem with 1.0 specifically and not IIS or PHP 4.3

    The developers will have to look into it.

    If you haven't seen the update, you should try
    replacing this file (bb-setting.php) and see what happens:
