    Sorry, unfortunately I have not had any time to work on it more.

    I need to convert it to using a real db table and not just user_meta
    which I've determined would get overloaded on a very active forum.

    If you don't care about losing existing transaction history by the next version (which is the part currently stored in user_meta) I could let you play with it as it is running here. Each user would still retain their totals after upgrading which may be acceptable to you?

    This is a demo of the bbPress Signatures plugin!

    I've put this on the plugin browser but please keep in mind
    it's an extremely early release and things will change:

    There must be a problem where the javascript popup is not firing. I just noticed that on IE7 it triggers a warning where you first have to whitelist the site for it to work.

    I'll have to accelerate my plans for a pop-up DIV instead (much more work than the 1-minute javascript pop-up solution unfortunately).

    Which thread (here of the bbpress forum) would you prefer I comment?

    Just for consistency, I'm using Firefox. Is it possible for this plugin, if a user makes a spam/useless post or thread for the extra point, to subtract any point given, PLUS another point for spamming?

    Posting here is probably easier for me but my RSS monitors both.
    Akismet (still) flags you as spam sometimes however

    So you don't even see it in Firefox? Wierdness. Do you have a personal firewall that's possibly filtering javascript or are you running noscript? I take it that adding points works here for you?

    update: I've just snuck in the ability to deduct points by admin - re-download 0.0.1 (there's no version bump). You still click the + but enter negative points. You can change the role to "moderate" if you need moderators to have this ability too.

    The admin point reduction is a nice touch.

    I don't see anything in Firefox of IE on our board when you click the plus. It just moves you down the page a bit. We run javascript for other commands on our site, but curiously, cannot get another javascript function to work in threads. Regardless, I disabled all plugins and the extraneous javascript and still no luck.

    PS: A your reuptation plugin is horror for W3C Validation. Don't know if this is because it's beta, but wowzers: 60+ errors.

    Heh, yeah I don't do validation. So many silly rules. After everything works and it looks right in all browsers *then* I sometimes go back and try to make it (mostly) validate.

    That no-javascript in topics sounds very familiar and a possible jquery problem where it leaves javascript in an error state so nothing else executes.

    It's also just occurred to me that maybe your custom template is missing the required
    <?php bb_head(); ?> hook in the header.php template? (just before </head> )

    If you do a "view source" on a topic page do you see at the very bottom a <form method="POST" name="bb_reputation_form"

    We aren't missing the <?php bbhead(); ?> hook.

    We are using jquery--perhaps you could explain that a bit more? I'm not quite sure what to look for.

    And as for the view source, this is what ends our thread source:

    <p>
    <input type="submit" id="postformsub" name="Submit" value="Send Post »" tabindex="4" />
    </p>

    <div class="clear"></div>

    <input type="hidden" name="_wpnonce" value="78cbc020ff" /><input type="hidden" name="_wp_http_referer" value="/forum/topic.php?id=475" /><input type="hidden" name="topic_id" value="475" />

    </fieldset>
    </form>
    <div class="admin">
    .
    .
    .
    </div>
    <input type="hidden" name="_wpnonce" value="6082002a39" /><input type="hidden" name="_wp_http_referer" value="/forum/topic.php?id=475" /><input type='submit' name='Submit' value='Move' />
    </div></fieldset></form></div>

    When you do a "view source" search for "bb_reputation_form".

    If it's not there, that explains (almost) everything.

    check your footer.php template for the bb_foot(); hook?
    I just realized I use bb_foot and not bb_head.
    Almost betting at this point your custom template is missing bb_foot.
