I started to study bbPress today and I'm loving it!!

I'm planning to make a special forum just for special threads that I'm going to use with a different layout.

I want to run a regular basis forum, including show this special topics in a normal way within the forum. But in another case, I'm planning to make an interactive panel with Wordpress, just like this:

The idea in an image is ATTATCHED

I need Wordpress to read the title and description of the first post and write it in the right side of the panel.

In the left side, I want to make an iframe with an auto refresh to get new replies from the thread. Probably in the future I could use ajax, but I need a really fast solution right now

Right at the bottom, I want to make a submit reply. The detail is: I cannot update the entire page, since I will be running an streaming audio object that cant be reloaded.

I'm not asking how I'm goint to do this in this first reply, but if all this is possible. It is?

    Best regards

Sure of course you can do that.

You can just load the framework of bbPress and do your own processing by doing a

    require('./bb-load.php');

That will do the user authentication and such for you without any output unless you add some.

If you want to process the submitted post, you can look at how it's done in
    bb-post.php
and just skip the redirect at the end.

You can do it with ajax too with a bunch more code.

Early versions of bbPress could edit posts via ajax but they took it out because of the complexity.

If you know what you are doing in javascript, the possibilities are endless.

CK, you are a very nice person. You've disabled the donation link. Any other way to donate an amout for you? I would like to donate $10 dollars, it's not much, but converting this to my currency (brazilian Reals) is a lot, lol.

Anyway, I will start coding with this load method and start analyzing the files you recomended. Probably, there will be a lot of doubts but I will read as much as I can before asking for help.

Good luck for me! And don't forget to send me a donation method, please!

    Best regards,

    CK, problems

I just can't understand how I'm going to make the post thing from that link. The replies are already being updated via ajax.

I'm planning to make a post form inside an iframe. This way I can confirm the input to the user and reload the form again.

But I'm reading the code at bb-post.php and can't think of how I'm going to make a post form to work, when the only information I have is the Topic ID.

    Any directions?

Unfortunately there is a limit to how much I can help you, I certainly can't help you develop an entirely new posting/reading method if you don't want to use the default way.

You probably need to learn how to use mysql, php and bbPress more first.
