I was kind of hoping that there would be a plugin that enables the placing of custom profile fields wherein only admins can edit? Is this possible with http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/profile-user-specified-fields#post-2672 ?
Sorry nothing like that exists already.
That would require a custom plugin to filter the abilities.
It works very similar to wordpress, and with the plugin for wordpress eventually being available, you might be able to use a wordpress plugin.

I'm actually looking for a "badge" plugin, something to add to the profile page.

I've actually developed a badges plugin but it's not available to the public, it was for a private client.
You'd be better off making a whole new profile tab for badges I think.
waah hope you could release a badge plugin for public use, been looking for "badge system" plugins for wordpress and bbpress lately, unfortunately I haven't found any.
do you have any idea how i can do that? new profile tab? where badges can be placed?
It's a major project and you'd have to know how to code.
Manually set badges by admin would be easy to code but very tedious to manage.
