Hi, sounds great. Where do I subscribe for an email if things change with this thread?

I hate using email for this type of thing, RSS is much better IMO. I do agree though, it would be nice if bbPress supported an email option out of the box as many people don't even know what RSS is. There are RSS to email systems available which you could easily integrate into bbPress if you wanted.

For your own purposes, visiting other forums, you should be able to find something which emails you whever an RSS feed you subscribe to adds something new. Perhaps some online feed readers support this?

You could also subscribe to the RSS feed on my forum for updates. In fact that is probably more reliable than here as once I've officially launched the service that will be where I post news about it ... http://pixopoint.com/feed/

I also have a feed for my 'Templates and Themes' forum, but that will send you a lot of unrelated support questions which you may not want inundating your email/rss ... http://pixopoint.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss2;sa=recent;board=1

You should mention it is for bbPress 1.x only.

That won't be a problem for new installs but existing bbPress 0.9 installs won't be able to use the templates until they upgrade someday.

I've hacked some workarounds to demonstrate the themes here on 0.9

    Nice work!

To be honest I didn't realise they only work with 1.x only. I'll definitely mention it now that you've let me know.

    Thanks

Cool. Thanks for adding them to your demos, I now know there are a lot of bugs in them! They look truly horrid, particularly when not integrated with WordPress.

I'll fix them up and send through some new style sheets to correct the main problems they have.

Some of the problems may be from me forcing them to work with 0.9

Is there any way I could set them to work with both 0.9 and 1.0?

I have very little experience with bbPress but figured the best theme to base the generator tool on was the new version to make sure it was forward compatible, but if I can make them backwards compatible as well that would be really handy.

Yes if you used the template code from 0.9 instead of 1.0 it would still work with 1.0

But you used the new functions from 1.0 which is the problem.

In six months the 1.0 code won't be a problem, but right now 1.0 is only a very unstable alpha.

0.9 doesn't have the topic page links built in or forum categories.

I won't be upgrading here to 1.0 until May at the soonest and July more likely.

I'll see if I can find a list of function changes then and update it accordingly.
