Hey bacubanja, sorry I missed your question somehow.

Essentially I believe you've confused the plugin because it cannot find the original wiki post user, which it stores by id number in the option db table.

Manually creating a new wiki user will not fix the situation.

If you have phpmyadmin you can search for the option
wiki_post
and delete that to start fresh (make sure you delete the manually created wiki user first).

Hey CK and others... I activated Wiki post on local install of bbpress/wordpress. I then (for whatever silly reason) deleted 'Wiki Post' user from wordpress/bbpress integration when uploading to hosted site. When I try and activate plugin and make 'wiki posts' I can't even when I make another user called 'Wiki Post'. The 'W' appears next to Topics and 'virgin' topics say 'Click to Add Wiki Post', however, when I do nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks a bunch!

Well like I said, it's not instantaneous or very easy,
but with a bit of editing you can make bbPress templates look like WordPress.

For example you're on the forums now, but I have a demo WordPress setup
over here (not finished yet but you get the idea)

http://bbshowcase.org/news/
try toggling back and forth to the forums front page:
http://bbshowcase.org/forums/

and you can see how they are virtually the same.

Eventually someone's going to come up with a simple matching
css stylesheet for both with the same classes so it's really easy.

By the way there are some themes already matching WordPress like "K2 for bbPress" :
http://www.linickx.com/archives/402/k2-for-bbpress-updated-v002

Once again: I don't need function integration but I do need the same look-and-feel AKA theme for both systems!

Stand alone integration of bbPress 0.9 and WP 2.5 has never been easier as far as the back end. First install WordPress and then install bbPress which will ask you integration questions. Previously you had to add plugins and such to fix integration issues but it's no longer needed.

However the front-end for bbPress - the theme - will require a bit of work to make it look like the WordPress side.

_ck_ - 1 day ago »
Instead I recommend what I call "stand-alone integration" where bbPress and WordPress run separately but have virtually identical themes. Runs much faster.

That's what I'm looking for!

But instructions I've found over the net refer to older version of bbP + WP.

Any suggestions?!

I've seen a few people fully integrate WP + bbPress
(ie. http://kiaspeed2.com/forum/ but there are plenty more)
where the bbPress code executes inside WordPress.

But I personally don't recommend "full" integration.
The amount of code required to load and render a single page is huge.

Instead I recommend what I call "stand-alone integration" where bbPress and WordPress run separately but have virtually identical themes. Runs much faster.

By the way, make sure you upgrade to bbPress 0.9.0.2 and WordPress 2.5.1 right away.

I see.
Well it's technically possible but I'd have to put in some code to deal with that.

bbPress isn't really meant to be a real Wiki so realize there are going to be a bunch of limitation to what you are trying to do.

I just want only one topic with one post as wiki post for collaboration work e. g. for documentation!

In this case it makes no sense to great at first a "dummy" post before I can great an Wiki post. I hope you understand what I mean?
